“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” (Heb. 12:19).

For many decades, geological scientists have been warning that the 750-mile San Andreas fault will one day rupture causing unspeakable damage to people and property. As recently as July 21, 2019, the director of the Southern California Earthquake Center, Thomas Jordan, made a terrifying announcement. He said the San Andreas fault appears to be in a critical state and could generate a large earthquake imminently. Those who live in California face an uncertain future filled with anxiety.

In other parts of America, there is much anxiety, but for different reasons. The covid-19 pandemic has changed the nation. New terms have been created, and new practices put into place, such as contact tracing, social distancing, and elbow bumping. The Oxford English Dictionary has added a slate of new terms, and new words, including, “infordemic”, and, “to flatten the curve”. People are visibly afraid of one another.

The nefarious work of Anti-fa, and the wanton destruction of private property, and public statues, add to the social anger and unrest. Livelihoods are being destroyed by mindless mobs. Citizens are arming themselves as never before. Police refuse to respond to desperate calls for help. It is all predictable. The Bible says, “Be sure your sins will find you out” (Num. 32:23).

Those women who have terrorized their unborn babies by the abortion process, with the assistance of the medical community, now have their own hearts filled with fear. Those who reveled in riotous and godless living are now afraid of each other. God knows how to send terror, and make the nations to tremble.  The kingdoms of this world are being shaken.

The world is moving towards a greater political and cultural earthquake unless something happens, and that something needs to be repentance, and renewal of the Holy Spirit. Consider the international community. China has unleashed a deadly virus throughout the world. North Korea is threatening war. In Iran, at the Natanz nuclear site, in early July, 2020, there was a fire. A two-story building was destroyed. The roof was blown up. There is war in the world, and rumors of war. Unbelievably large swarms of locust threaten the Middle East, because locust in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia have been breeding at an unpresented rate. “The current swarm eats as much as 35,000 humans a day would consume” (Locust Watch). The locust are on the move, and threaten to go as far east as Pakistan. The Four Horses of the Apocalypse are riding together in the form of conquest, famine, death, and pestilence.

The reason why the Apocalyptic Horsemen ride in every generation, is because of sin. In a perfect paradise called Eden, man rebelled against God, and has lived in rebellion ever since. The only hope mankind has is to repent of sin, and turn to Jesus Christ for personal, social, and environmental salvation. “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (Rom. 8:22).

Jesus said there would come a time when men’s hearts would fail them because of fear. “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:26). That time is now. God is shaking the earth, the stars, and the planets.

If you want hope for today, and for tomorrow, then believe in something, and Someone beyond yourself. Specifically, believe there are some things that will always remain, and you can count on.

The nature of God never changes. “For I am the LORD, I change not” (Mal. 3:6). The essence of God is eternal.

God is holy. The idea of holiness is that of separation. God is separate from evil. “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). In a world filled with moral relativism, and behavioral uncertainty, it is good to know there is a standard of holiness and moral perfection. God is that standard. God is Holy! Holy! Holy!

God is omnipotent, which means He is all powerful. The world is not out of control, but sustained by the power of God. No matter what fear weapons technology may create, it is in God we live and move and have our being. That will never change.

God is omniscient, which means He is wise. He has all knowledge. Life does have definition, purpose, and meaning. The Lord knows all about the troubles we face, and He cares.

God is omnipresent, which means He is always present. The Psalmist asked, ““Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” (Psalm 138:7). Where-ever you go, God is there.

Because God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, He is able to work all things “together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Rom. 8:28).

The love of God never changes. “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore, with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jer. 31:3). Because of His great love, God is willing and able to forgive those who have sinned. Indeed, “God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).

The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10). The wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed” (Rom. 10:8-11).

Those who do not believe in God, those who do not bow before Him, will know that God is the God of judgment. God has “appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead” (Acts 17:31). The day of judgment is fixed. It will not change, because God will not change. He is not a man that He should lie. God cannot lie. There will be a pay day, some day. Every secret word and deed will be brought to light. There is a judgment day coming.

The day of judgment should be prepared for, because the Word of God never changes. “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89). Satan has tried to make men doubt the Word of God. In the Garden of Eden, the serpent asked Eve, “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Gen. 3:1). Liberal theologians have advanced the Satanic cause through Historical Criticism, or Higher Criticism, which is simply an academic assault on the integrity of the Bible. Still, the Bible stands.

Jesus Christ never changes. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Heb. 13:8). Because Jesus does not change, He will receive all who come to Him. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matt. 11:28-29).

The world places a heavy burden on individuals, with many rules and regulations. America, once the land of the free, and the home of the brave, is, in the first part of the 21st century, rapidly moving towards socialism and totalitarianism. Churches are being vandalized without anyone being punished. Free speech is being suppressed in the name of political correctness. Christians are being targeted for persecution, and elimination. Political correctness has replaced common sense. No longer do all lives matter, but only those whom the elite deem worthy of being honored.

In contrast to the oppressive burdens of a godless government, guided by secular wisdom, which is rooted in spiritual darkness, and demonically influenced, the yoke of Christ is light. By faith, the Christian will take up the yoke of Christ, with hope in the heart of a better tomorrow for there is another kingdom, which is not of this world, which is far better.

It is a kingdom which cannot be moved by the madness of a mob, political correctness, or tribalism.

It is a kingdom which is stable and eternal.

It is a kingdom ruled by the best of Men, the God-Man, the Unique Person in the universe, the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of David, Son of God, Creator, Messiah, Redeemer, and King of all kings.

Come to the kingdom, and come to the King of the kingdom. Receive a kingdom which cannot be moved.
