On March 29, 2019, a remarkable movie was released in select theaters in America. This particular movie is remarkable, not for the content, for there have been many other pro-life films protesting abortion, but because the main character, Abby Johnson (b. July 10, 1980), was once a clinic director for Planned Parenthood. Although Abby was reared in a conservative family, like many other young people she lost her way in life, and compromised many of her childhood values. She began volunteering for Planned Parenthood after being introduced to their deceptive program at a volunteer fair at her college. Abby was told that Planned Parenthood wanted to reduce the number of abortions. That was a big lie that would take Abby years to understand.
The volunteer work at Planned Parenthood turned into a permanent position as Abby advanced in education and work promotions. She was “extremely pro-choice” and was very persuasive at convincing women to have an abortion. Her pro-abortion stance was guaranteed by the Supreme Court of the United States in Roe v. Wade, 1973, and sustained by a complex government support industrialized abortion apparatus only dreamed of by the officials in Nazis Germany.
What the godless, heartless, and barbaric Nazis did in secret death camps during World War II, America does openly in the 21st century. There is the slaughter of the innocent. This can happen because, like the “Peculiar Institution” of slavery, like the “Holocaust,” Planned Parenthood dehumanizes babies. They are not precious individuals made in the image of God. They are “blobs of tissue” that cannot feel pain and so should be terminated as a cancer, or, in the words of the former prochoice President Obama, “a mistake.”
Because of her amazing ability to convince women to proceed with an abortion, Abby was able to raise a lot of money for the Abortion Industrial Complex of Death. The Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan, Texas named Abby employee of the year in 2008.
Then, in September 2009, Abby Johnson met one of God’s little children personally. She was called in to assist in an ultra-sound guided abortion at 13 weeks gestation. As Abby looked on the monitor which was used to guide the instrument of destruction seeking to dismember and suck the life of the baby into a bloody tube, she was amazed to see how similar the ultrasound image looked like her own daughter. The Spirit of the Living God illuminated the mind of Abby, and touched her cold heart. Jesus came and took the baby to heaven, and left Abby with a heart of flesh.
Abby realized how big the lie was she had believed. For years Abby believed the baby in the womb could not feel anything while being aborted. Suddenly, Abby knew the truth. “For the briefest moment,” she would later write in her memoir, Unplanned, “the baby looked as if it were being wrung like a dishcloth, twirled and squeezed. And then it crumpled and began disappearing into the cannula before my eyes. The last thing I saw was the tiny, perfectly formed backbone sucked into the tube, and then it was gone.”
In the movie Unplanned, Abby reveals some inside information that only someone like herself could know from experience. For example, the movie reveals that abortion is the “cash cow” of Planned Parenthood’s industrial complex of death, no matter what other services Planned Parenthood provides. The size of a baby’s head will determine how much a woman is charged for an abortion. Not all the procedures are safe. There are undocumented instances where hospital medical care was needed, but not provided. The exposure of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, America’s biggest serial killer, confirms this truth.
There are other insights into practices and procedures of Planned Parenthood that are divulged in the movie.
One of the most encouraging facts revealed in Unplanned is that the prayers of Christians make a difference. At some clinics, up to 75 percent of women seeking an abortion will turn and go home if they see Christians simply standing outside an abortion clinic praying, holding up a sign of protest, or offering to help those women wanting an alternative to killing the separate life within their bodies. Christians who feel helpless should know that their prayers, and acts of protest, are not in vain. Many precious lives have been saved, and will be saved as the Church continues to stand in judgment upon the evil that men and women do.
